How to Style the Coloured Denim Jacket

I’ve decided to do a styling series so you can get an idea of how I’m wearing my favourite pieces of the moment. I’m forever buying new pieces and then struggling to know how to wear them with so this year I’ve been reading many more styling blogs for inspiration. I’ve decided to do this series to help anyone who, like me, struggles to know how to get the full potential out of one amazing piece. For the first post, I’m helping you style the coloured denim jacket.

Mustard has been my go-to colour this season so when I bought a coloured denim jacket, of course it had to be mustard. You can shop the jacket here!

Look 1

The first and probably favourite of my three styles is this casual look. Coloured denim jacket, slogan tee, mom jeans and trainers – one of my favourite casual yet stylish outfits. This kind of outfit would go with any colour denim jacket as the subdued palette really helps the colour of the denim to pack a punch. For this amazing ‘the future is female’ slogan tee, you can find it at Poppy Apparel and get 10% off using code BLONDEAMBITION10. Plus it’s on sale at the moment! – you’re very welcome.

Look 2

The second of my looks is a more dressed up style of wearing the coloured denim jacket, maybe for a summers evening out for a few drinks. Denim jacket are such lightweight pieces, making them the ideal jacket for summer. Again, I’ve styled my mustard denim number with another slogan tee but this time in black. The mustard really stands out against the monochrome palette and looks so summery with the white jeans. This look would look equally good with trainers but for a more dressy version I added some black mule sandals (these Birkenstock lookalikes are from Primark!).

Look 3

My final look strayed away from jeans and instead focused on baring your legs for summer with a denim skirt. You may remember this gingham denim skirt from my New Year, New Adventures post. The point of this look was to show that double denim works!! I’ve opted for a monochrome palette once again but a denim coloured skirt would look equally as good. There’s even some great coloured denim co-ords available at the minute so don’t be afraid of doubling up the denim and clashing or matching colours!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this new feature as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it! As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments and any questions you may have regarding the looks or products! Happy reading loves!
