The French Riviera in a Day

Travelling is one of my most favourite things in life to do but I just don’t have the time (nor money) to do it as often as I’d like. So when I can, I love being able to tick off multiple places in one day. You may remember when I explored Paris in a Day, well this year it was time to discover the French Riviera in a day!

Since I was staying in Nice, I searched for trips on trip advisor which started from there and found an amazing tour which covered four towns in one day. The first stop was Èze, a stunning medieval town set on a hill-top not far from Nice. Exploring the cobbled streets which entwine up and up and up, you can discover all sorts of hidden boutiques and cafes in this ancient fortified village. I would highly recommend a day trip for anyone sending time in Nice or the surrounding parts of the French Riviera.

The next location on our whistle-stop tour was Monaco. The whole place just oozed money, particularly Monte-Carlo, my favourite area. Flash cars, million pound yachts and every designer store you could dream of led the way up to the famous Monte-Carlo casino.

The third part of the tour brought us to another medieval town, this time set in the provence, Saint-Paul-de-Vence. I’ve always wanted to visit the French Provence and it was everything you would expect. Reminiscent of a L’occitane campaign, there were pretty little bicycles with baskets on the front, gorgeous light stone houses and lavender everywhere.

The final stop was to the glamorous Cannes. We didn’t spend much time in Cannes but if I’m honest, it was enough. Aside from the rows of designer boutiques and the famous Cannes film festival building with its red carpet, Cannes is essentially a (lesser in my opinion) beach town like Nice, but MUCH busier.

Although you may want to spend more than a day in each of the places I’ve mentioned, The French Riviera in a day is definitely possible. I had plenty enough time in each of the towns to explore and get a feel for the places. If I was to go back to one for longer, I would definitely choose Èze, as it was absolutely amazing and I’d love to spend a full weekend there.

I didn’t want to go in too heavy with all the details of my day but if you’d like any more information on any of the places I visited, please don’t hesitate to ask in the comments below!
