Autumn/Winter is probably my favourite time of year when it comes to fashion: cosy knits, dreamy colour palettes, and of course, the footwear. There’s just something about chunky loafers and buttery leather boots that gets my heart racing, so when I was asked to style some Jones Bootmaker boots and shoes from their A/W collection, you can imagine my delight!
Since their first footwear shop opened in 1857, Jones Bootmaker have never compromised on craftsmanship, using the finest quality materials and traditional design details. Their collections consist of timeless classics that embody a light-hearted sense of fun and occasion, and this seasons are no different. The brand have also just launched their Black Friday sale where you can shop lots of styles with huge savings of up to 60% off! Read on to see which shoes I chose and how I styled them.
The Penny Loafer
First up, yep you guessed it – loafers. For me, autumn dressing isn’t autumn dressing without a pair of penny loafers. Traditionally I have opted for black styles, but I love how different the Jones Bootmaker Darra Chunky Penny Loafers are. Their almond toe silhouette, off-white soft leather and chunky track sole make for comfortable wearing, (something which Jones Bootmaker boots and shoes are notable for), and impeccable styling.
To really nail the preppy look, a trend that we see return time and time again in Autumn, I styled them with a mohair cardigan, simple white tee, black mini skirt and a cute pair of frill trim socks. Oh, and of course a tote bag (just to really emphasise the ‘spending my weekend visiting an art gallery/museum’ look). Shop the loafers below!
The Knee High Boot
Okay, it’s official. I’m in love. I am an absolute sucker for boots the minute Autumn rolls around and each year I seem to accumulate yet another pair. The unusually mild weather has meant we have been able to bare our legs for longer this year, and so knee high boots have definitely been having a moment: the perfect partner to wear with this season’s offering of check and houndstooth print skirts and skorts.
Jones Bootmaker’s Cesena Knee High Boots are a super comfortable option, made for day-to-night styling. Looking just as good with bare legs as worn with trousers, I styled mine with a black skirt, simple white-tee, houndstooth blazer and an equestrian bucket bag for an overall equine-approved look.
The Cesena Boot comes in different calf widths meaning these boots are literally made for anyone. They also come in a gorgeous chocolate shade which will look perfect with this season’s brown and check colour palettes. Oh, and did I mention they currently have up to 60% off in the brand’s Black Friday sale?
The Platform Trainer
Long gone are the days where wearing trainers was seen as a fashion faux pas. Today’s styles are clean, smart and sophisticated, bringing a considered touch to business casual dressing. Made from super smooth brilliant white leather with a navy detail, the Enrica Leather Platform Trainers from Jones Bootmaker help elevate super casual outfits such as lounge sets, yet subdue overly smart looks such as suits.
I styled mine with a pair of grey ankle-length trousers, simple white tee and Breton stripe half-knit jumper. Shop the trainers below with a huge £60 discount!
The Biker Boot
Jones Bootmaker have taken the traditional biker boot, and toned it down somewhat into a softer, and I would argue, more versatile style with their Simonetta Biker Boots. The super soft in grained leather in a creamy off-white hue teamed with chunky chenille laces bring an elegant twist to this typically grungy style.
In keeping with the softer style of shoe, I opted for a ‘winter whites’ look, styling the boots with a cream knit sweater vest over a white shirt dress. What’s more, my Coach Tabby bag with its cream in grained leather matches the Simonetta boots perfectly! Shop below and save up to 60% in the Jones Bootmaker Black Friday sale.
