Rental Fashion: The New Way to Shop

It’s official: rental fashion is having a moment. And that moment doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Having already been widely adopted in the US, renting clothes was a concept mainly reserved for special occasions here in the UK. However the pandemic changed that. With people’s perceptions about the world and our impact on it changing, and with endless news about the fashion industry’s enormous contribution to climate change and environmental issues, it’s no surprise that we turned out attention to finding a guilt-free and more sustainable way of shopping. And so rental fashion continued, and still continues, to reign.

I recently collaborated with rental fashion brand Endless Wardrobe to try out some of their latest Whistles’ collection pieces and learn more about their rental model and how it works.

How it Works

Endless Wardrobe is the only rental fashion platform that allows you to shop the same style, three different ways: rent, buy new or buy nearly-new. As official stockists of lots of high-street and designer brands such as ALEXACHUNG, Olivia Rubin and House of Sunny, you’ll never be short of options, whatever your style.

A great way to get your fashion fix whilst limiting your carbon footprint, renting clothes via a platform like Endless Wardrobe is also the perfect way to wear designer brands you might not otherwise be able to afford. A more sustainable yet affordable option to shopping? What’s not to like! The best part? If you fall in love with your rental, you can select ‘Keep Forever’ on the order page, check out and love your new item endlessly. They’ll even discount the rental price!

Neutral Styling with Endless Wardrobe

To try out their super simple to use rental system, I chose some neutral pieces from Whistles, a brand I’ve never shopped from before. From prices as low as £19 for four days rental (or more if you prefer), renting your next outfit is a great way to discover new brands or new styles you might otherwise not want to take the plunge and try. Take a look at what I chose below or watch my styling reel.

Whistles Relaxed Boilersuit

Perhaps my favourite piece of the haul, the Whistles Relaxed Boilersuit is the perfect way to nod to the always popular utility trend. Made from 100% cotton, this lightweight jumpsuit is the perfect partner for exploring during a city break, or for transitioning from summer into autumn dressing. I styled mine with oversized 70s sunglasses and my Coach Tabby Bag for a retro inspired look.

Whistles Polo Knit Dress

Another great transitional piece as we move from summer into autumn, the Whistles Polo Knit Dress looks just as great paired with sandals as it does with boots. I played with the neutral tones in the knitted dress, styling with a pair of off white double buckle sandals. I wouldn’t normally have chosen this style of dress for fear it wouldn’t suit me but renting it was a great way of proving me wrong!

Whistles Round Neck Knitted Dress

Last but certainly not least, the Whistles Round Neck Knitted Dress is a minimalist dream. A sophisticated take on the maxi dress and perfect for transitioning between seasons, I styled mine with chunky black sandals for the current weather, but can see this looking amazing with chunky black boots and a leather jacket in the winter.

With free delivery, free returns, unworn items refunded in full and all rentals covered for damage (they understand the difficulty of keeping red wine under control!), what have you got to lose?! As a self-confessed shopping addict who couldn’t possibly fit anything more in her wardrobe, rental fashion via Endless Wardrobe has definitely been an eye-opening experience for me and one I will definitely be repeating!
