I think autumn has to be my favourite season. As much as I love summer, there’s just something about crisp leaves, chunky cardigans and burnt orange tones that makes me happy inside. Since working in the beauty industry, I have bought SO much make up it’s becoming a joke. But I have no regrets (fashion and beauty is my life after all) and instead want to share with you my latest buys and my autumn make up favourites.
Autumn Lip Favourites
Anyone who knows me well will know that I am a strictly nude girl when it comes to lipsticks. However, I am trying to mix it up a bit when it comes to my autumn make up this year. I am currently LOVING the MAC Matte Lipstick in Chilli, paired with the MAC Lip Liner in Chicory. For anyone, like me, who’s a bit nervous when it comes to venturing out with bold lips, this lipstick and liner combination is perfect for adding a hint of autumn to your lipstick routine. It’s what I would describe as a deep orangey-red colour that looks amazing with all the tones out on the high street right now. I find lips to be another way to inject colour and accessorise an outfit.
But of course, I can never be without my trusty nudes and these two are my ultimate faves this autumn. Traditionally, I am very much a Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Kim KW type of girl however I have been favouring a darker nude recently. Enter the NARS Audacious Lipstick in Raquel and MAC Matte Lipstick in Honey Love: two of the best lipsticks for anyone who wants to branch out with their nude shades. The NARS Audacious Lipstick is a semi matte lipstick, moisturised with shea butter and boy can you tell. This is the creamiest lipstick I think I have ever used and I can’t wait to try out more colours now that my NARS Audacious virginity has been taken.
On the other hand, the MAC Matte Lipstick is a much more matte lipstick (clue’s in the name I know but bear with me) which is perfect for when I want that completely powdered matte look. The shade Honeylove is the perfect nude for your autumn make up look too as it has such a buildable, warm colour, allowing the transition from more the fleshy, pinky nudes of summer to the deeper, warmer, more autumnal colours.
Autumn Eyes Favourites
Onto eyes now and the most amazing, unbelievably beautiful, incredible, autumnal palette I ever did see (can you tell I like it?). The Morphe 3502 Second Nature Eyeshadow Palette. If there ever was a palette that screamed autumn, this would be the one. From matte finishes to satin and shimmer, there’s 35 earthy hues to choose from ranging from spicy cinammons and metallic golds, to rusty coppers, blazing reds and fiery oranges. Not only do the shadows look amazing, they also have incredible colour pay off and apply SO well. I’m looking forward to going out of my comfort zone and creating some daring eye looks with this palette this season.
I’ve only mentioned my lips and eyes autumn make up favourites in this post as I have some other posts coming up that feature my hero face and skin products so stay tuned! I’d love to hear your comments on this post below and any future posts stemming from this or anything in general that you’d like me to write about next! I adore hearing your suggestions.
