Finally another outfit post! I’m definitely sticking to my must blog more resolution this year and I’m so happy about it. You may remember my Autumn Transitions post, talking about the transitional textures taking us from summer to autumn. Well, this post is all about transitional textures again, this time those taking us gradually from winter into spring. It’s also just an excuse to show off my recent Rebellious Fashion purchases which I wore for a date night. I’ve realised recently that I don’t own much red in my wardrobe so thought I’d treat myself after seeing this red crop jumper. The ruffle texture is a great way of toning down otherwise chunky jumpers and keeping them pretty for spring. This one comes in a mustard shade too which I’ve also been tempted to buy.
I styled the jumper with a pair of checked paperbag trousers and a black fluffy bag. If you haven’t noticed, paperbag trousers are all over Instagram right now. Worn with a belt (this one comes attached to the pants) they are the perfect style of trouser for cinching you in and giving the illusion of a tiny waist. Pairing them with a ruffle crop jumper like this one really adds to the effect. These trousers are super comfy and lightweight, making them a great transition piece into spring.
Contrasting the fabrics, I’ve thrown in a black fluffy bag to add more texture and dress up the overall outfit for more of a date night feel. This is the Riga Marabou from Topshop which is no longer available in black, however I have linked below some VERY similar dupes for this and for all the other pieces in the post.
Thank you for reading! I’d love to know your thoughts on the post below.
